CCS DISABILITY ACTION COMMUNITY GARDENS, 14 ERSON AVENUE, ROYAL OAK - SHOP OPENS 15 JANUARY 2009

Spring has well and truly sprung at CCS Disability Action Community Gardens – the raised beds and accessible pathways have now been completed and various planting has happened throughout the garden. We would like to take this opportunity to thank SkyCity Community Trust for their generous grant - the extensive garden redevelopment would not have been possible without their funding.

Our garden shop at 14 Erson Avenue, Royal Oak, will be opening on 15 January 2009, selling fresh organic fruit and vegetables. The shop will be open throughout the year each Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 - 3pm.

In summer the following produce is likely to be available: artichokes, avocado, babaco, beans, beetroot, carrots, courgettes, cucumber, feijoa, figs, flowers, garlic, herbs, lemon grass, lettuce, pawpaw, pipino, potatoes, rocket, silverbeet, spinach, tamarillo, tomatoes.

Please call us on 625 9378 if you wish to confirm availability of produce before you visit.

To help make the shop a success we are looking for volunteers to staff it when it is open. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please contact Steve Matheson on 624-5496 or by email: steve.matheson@ccsdisabilityaction.org.nz
